Clarithromycin achieved a clinical success rate of 97.0% within 2 days after treatment and radiologic resolution or improvement was observed in 87.9% of patients. There was no abnormal findings in laboratory tests during treatment. Adverse events were reported for 9.1% of patients and gastrointestinal disturbances, such as indigestion and diarrhea, were commonly occurring adverse event in the treatment of clarithromycin.
